Salty Food Can Raise High Blood Pressure

High blood pressure (HBP or hypertension) is when your blood pressure is consistently too high, the strength of your blood pushing against the walls of your blood vessels. High blood pressure is the life-threatening disease that can be harmful and can cause fatal. Therefore, the prevention from this disease has to be taken due to prevention is better than cure. One of the ways to prevent high blood pressure from raising is by controlling our diet due to a certain food can increase and decrease our blood pressure.

Salt

Salty food is the crucial thing that you have to avoid as when living with high blood pressure and heart disease, salt and sodium are villains. The Americans ‘ Dietary Guidelines for 2015 – 2020 suggest that people with high blood pressure limit their daily intake of sodium to only 1,500 milligrams (mg). However, the salt is not measured by the saltshaker only, most of the sodium comes in the packaged food that is served daily without we noticed about it. Deli meat

These alternatives, as well as fresh tomatoes rich in lycopene, are intelligent choices that have many heart health benefits for people who want to keep their blood pressure down.

Sugar

Other than salt, you probably already know that excessive intake of sugar has been associated with increased weight gain and obesity. But did you know that the high intake of sugar is also associated with high blood pressure? Sugar has contributed to an increase in obesity in people of all ages, especially sugar-sweetened drinks. In people who are overweight or obese, high blood pressure is more common.
